The Story

A new family moved into the house next to Leo last week. Leo was very curious about them. He looked out his window and saw a boy who was about his age. Leo hoped he would be nice and that they could be friends.

The next day, Leo went outside to play with his red ball. He saw the new boy in his garden. The boy was quiet and seemed a little shy. Leo wanted to say hello, but he was a little nervous too. He decided to be brave.

Leo walks over to the fence that separates their houses. He smiled and said, “Hi, I’m Leo.” The new boy smiled back and said, “I’m Sam. We just moved here yesterday.” Sam had a small, brown dog with him that wagged its tail.

Leo asked Sam, “Do you like to play football?” Sam’s face lit up, and he said he loved it. Leo invites Sam to play with him. They went to the small park across the street. Sam was very good at playing football.

They played for a long time until they were both tired. They sat down under a big tree to rest. They talk about their favorite books and TV shows. Leo was very happy because he knew he had a new friend.
