The Story
Last Saturday was a special day for Sofia. She went to her first football match with her father. She had never been to a real game before and was very excited. They took a bus to the big stadium in the middle of the city.
Inside, the stadium was full of people. Almost everyone was wearing red and white, the colors of their team. Sofia and her father found their seats. They had a great view of the green field. Sofia’s father bought her a red and white scarf to wear.
At three o’clock, the match started. The two teams ran onto the field. The noise from the crowd was very loud! Everyone cheered and sang songs for their favorite players. Sofia quickly learned the song and sang too.
Sofia’s team played very well. They passed the ball quickly and ran a lot. In the second part of the game, the best player kicked the ball hard. It flew past the goalkeeper and into the net! It was a goal! All the people stood up and shouted. Sofia was so happy and she jumped up and down.
The game ended a few minutes later. The score was 1-0. Sofia’s team was the winner! Walking out of the stadium, there was loud music and singing. Sofia told her father it was the best day ever. She asked if they could come back again soon.
