The Story
My friend Tom is seventeen years old. He wanted to find a job to make some money for a new bike. He looked for a place near his house and found a small, local café that needed help.
On his first day, he was very nervous. But the manager, a woman named Sarah, was very kind and helpful. His first tasks were to clean the tables after people left and wash the dishes in the kitchen.
The work was difficult sometimes, especially when the café was busy. But Tom learns many new things. After a few days, Sarah taught him how to make good coffee for each customer. He really enjoyed doing that.
One day, a friendly man left some extra money on the table just for him. Tom felt very happy. He liked his job because he enjoyed talking to different people. He smiled all day and felt very proud of his work.
At the end of his first week, he got his pay. He was so excited. He went to a shop and bought a new video game he wanted. He learned that having a job was hard work, but it also felt great.
